The North Face

Post Sophomore year, as a college student living Portland, OR I needed a job. I wanted more than anything to work at a store that would grant me industry discounts. After a flurry of applying I landed a position at The North Face in downtown Portland as a Retail Sales Guide. Working on the ground floor of the outdoor industry has taught me so much in the past few years. I have developed a deep sense of empathy in order to meet the needs of the clientele that I work to outfit. I have learned what it takes to sell the products I hope to one day develop. I have come to understand how important community building is for a company to be competitive. Moreover, I have developed the hard and soft skills necessary to work with a team, drive sales, merchandise a store in an aesthetically pleasing way, and have fun while working hard.
